Good, especially 2nd day, got from naked wines — 6 years ago
This is a full bodied red with nicely balanced acidity, possibly the best I have tasted of such a blend. It is smooth but not too thick,!with black currant and blueberry fruits up front, with a healthy dose of plum to the finish. There is a splash of palate cleansing bite at the very end of the finish 😻 — 8 years ago
Strong, rich flavor. Smooth finish for Malbec. — 5 months ago
It’s 10 years since Serge. Hochar’s death whilst swimming in Acapulco on NYE 2014 and I think it’s appropriate to celebrate his legacy that is the modern Chateau Musar.
I first tasted Lebanese wines in London circa 1986 when I used to go to a couple of Lebanese restaurants in Shepherds Market near Mayfair in London
Al Hamra is still in business
I’ve been to Beirut several times and always stock up at the airport duty free
So a toast to a departed icon of the wine world
Since my last 2011 4.5 years ago (see note) this has aged wonderfully and I’ve up my rating several points
Another few years and it will be further improved
Optimal decant time was around 3.5 to 4 hours
Ethereal stuff — 2 years ago
On first opening, bouquet of black cherry and blackberries, Big Red cinnamon gum, bell pepper, and smoky bowling alley; palate of black cherry and plum, char, and black tea with a medium-short finish. On the second day the candy and bell pepper smells taper, bowling alley becomes more of a whiff of pipe smoke, blackberry bramble emerges with spent firecrackers; on the palate the black pepper spice has some herbs de provence, black tea tannins are rounder and the cherry flavor more tart, a fuller body on the finish with notes of char, meat fats, and pepperoni spices. Was gonna go with 89 but it’s impressive once you decant for a day. — 4 years ago
Welp this wine is fucking weird and I like it. Tastes smokey like my lapsang souchang tea, but also crisp and funky. I feel like this needs a very special cheese pairing; made a comte grilled cheese which was close. — 6 years ago
Quite interesting taste — 6 years ago
Rich. Served in ANA first class. Retail price about ¥10,000. — 7 years ago
Well worth another bottle. — 2 years ago
Deep ruby color; menthol, cherries, and dried herbs on the nose; medium acidity; high tannins; tastes like blackberries, menthol, and crushed gravel with a long finish. Nellie says it's ok. Jason likes it. Jen likes it. Brian loves it and I do too. — 3 years ago
Bold after 30 minutes or so. Excellent everyday wine. — 5 years ago
Beautiful. Pretty fruit. Nice finish. Black Cherry? Not too dry. Like a Bordeaux, balanced and blended to me. Well done. Oct 10, 2020. — 6 years ago
Okay. It not overpowering and mildly sweet — 6 years ago
Another stellar release from Ms. Draper, this is the wine which is also available in a blend with her also superlative Tempranillo. It is a big red but not too chewy, good with spicy Argentine steak. The flavors are primarily red currant and plum, with a mineral body and a bit of chocolate to the finish. This wine is vibrant and refreshing, and new layers are revealed with further sips. — 8 years ago
