1971 vines! Way too young to try a baby wine 12.8%. So more Cote Rôtie than Shiraz. Dark and tannic, disjointed right now. Needs to come together. On the elegant side. Violets, touch Blueberries, Olive notes. Almost Burgundy like (my kind of wine) but it has this touch of California fruit. Very well made! The 2023 Gamay is bursting with ripe red fruits, rose petals and a kick of dried herbs. The purity of the fruit is striking, while the 100% whole clusters are impeccably integrated. Bright acids punctuate the finish. This delightful Gamay has it all. I loved it. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, August 2024)
