Blend of Corvina (60%), Rondinella (30%) and Molinara (10%). Dark ruby/purple color with a garnet rim. Ripe red and black fruit aromas with notes of herbs and spices. Flavors of ripe cooked black cherries, cocoa powder, roasted herbs, orange zest and a hint of pepper spice. Long and slightly sweet finish. Mild tannins and acidity. Velvety texture and quite bright. v09. Really good!! Peppery, black cherry licorice nose. Round, rich, deep black cherry fruit. Smooth, long, slightly dry, soft chalk, white pepper and mocha finish. Nicely balanced, this what first time wine drinkers think wine should taste like! — 12 days ago
Took a flyer buying this from Benchmark. Bottle was in perfect condition, but sadly past its peak. Nose was outstanding - huge - chocolate, spice box. Had lost any acidity to balance the huge fruit. And at 17%, it kicked our ass. Would love to try a slightly younger rendition. — a month ago

Turns out super well made Amarone is ideal match for Texas smoked brisket and ribs. Dense, layered and oh, so smooth. No clue where it’s hiding 17% alcohol. In a sweet spot with 30 minute decant. 🙏 @Michael Aronovici — 3 months ago

This wine is so hard to rate. You either love or hate it. It’s almost a dessert wine with the sweetness it displays right from the bottle.
Early on, it had some depth and tannin to balance the sweetness and provide for some cherry and good fruit.
As it decanted and sat, it seemed to get sweeter as tannins faded.
This wine needed strong cheese to really balance it.
It was the favorite for some but then avoided by others. You have to really enjoy the sweetness without sugar. — 4 days ago
