Ruby in color with a wide cloudy, reddish rim.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing red and black fruits with oak, licorice, eucalyptus, herbs, mediterranean spices, coffee, earth and black pepper.
Nice tangy finish with soft tannins and tangy cranberries.
This is a very tasty 8-year-old Rioja Reserva. Elegant and soft.
Showing nice complexity at this point, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.
Easy drinking and a good food wine.
I had the 2009 a few years ago, and loved it. This one just needs more time in the bottle to mature properly.
A blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha. Aged for 3 years in used American oak barrels.
14.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

Enjoyed alongside some other Napa legends from the 80’s and 90’s. The 1985 is lovely and came more than willing, with a mix of tart, ripe and desiccated red fruits, Montmorency cherries, red currants, graphite, toasted coconut, leather and nuts. There was a slightly sherried character early on the nose but the structure seemed to defy age. No need to cellar further as this is delicious now and well stored examples should continue to be through 2030+. — 13 days ago

Smooth, supple and well balanced. Distinct blueberry and cream notes. — 19 days ago
Honeydew melon and pineapple everywhere.. broad and expansive on the mid-palate. Moderate and honied sweetness is tucked in with complementary acidity. A beauty. — 6 days ago
I love Ridge wine… I have not had a bottle that I didn’t like. I had a vertical tasting. This is one of them. Amazing. — 4 days ago
Wow! Really hit the spot with the next generation. We went out with a bunch of 30 something things and they fell over for this wine. So did I and can’t believe how good it was. Really would like to get some more. — 14 days ago

Served with Fisherman’s Pasta - sablefish, mussels, saffron gnocchetti pasta, fennel, fresh baguette toast. If there is one thing constant about every Lopez de Heredia Blanco that I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying, it’s that they are never boring. The 2006 delivers on that with notes of dates, dried apricot, German candied nuts, marshmallows, cumin, dill and toasted coconut. Dry with fantastic acid and the texture is waxy. One of my favorite white wines on earth. Will probably live for another 20 years easy. — 13 days ago
