T’giving in Tejas! — a month ago
Deep, dark and contemplative. Fresh and lively nose, but the fruit is quite restrained and serious. Black cherry, prune, vanilla bean and black pepper with dusty, astringent tannins. Long dry finish of hay, dried herbs and some of that bitterness. Drinking it on the cooler side. Feels right to sip this while listening to Sketches of Spain. — 2 months ago
Solid Barbera. Great with and hearty Italian dish. — a month ago
After sending back an oxidized, tired 2020 Rossi di Montalcino, the Somm had the waiter bring back this wine at around the same price point. Don’t sleep on #barberadalba from a great producer. Raspberry, plum, dusty dark fruit nose. So vibrant on the palate with lush yet tangy dark red fruit on the entry, gossamer tannins on the finish. Corking it after dinner and after the next day in the wine fridge still as alive. — 2 months ago
A top vintage for Unico, and one to live forever, 04 is in an amazing spot, decadently layered and hedonistic with an impeccable balance of both power and elegance. The palate is expansive, silky and rich with melting tannins and massive length. A stellar Unico. — 12 days ago
Great, but the 2018 better - a little more horsepower. — 2 months ago
RW’s bday party at Chi Spacca. We all loved it. Very smooth and balanced. Barolo-like — 2 months ago
