Dolcetto d'Alba 2018

See several previous Delectable notes. Deeply coloured but not deep in palate - medium bodied. Liquorice and almonds, a juicy palate. Finishes with a skinnsy bitter note. Great with free range chicken legs. Probably best drunk young. From a highly reputable producer in GD Vayra. My last bottle of 6. — 8 days ago

Not lucky. Twice as lucky. Cheers. 18 was the better tasting vintage. Better balanced, softer tannins, and brighter. Cheers. — a month ago

Alion Ribera del Duero Tinto Fino 2013

Dark ruby hue. Aromas of cassis, cherry, earthy, leather, licorice, plum, smoke, tar, violet. Full bodied with full tannins and high acidity. Soft tannins. A little hot at the outset and needs time to open up. But otherwise beautiful and expressive. A definitive pairing with red meat. 100% Tempranillo. — 19 days ago

Nebbiolo d'Alba 2021

Bright Ruby color with aromas of red berry fruits, spice and floral notes, aged for 14 months in French oak. On the palate flavors of cherry and strawberry with spice, licorice and floral notes. Fine chewy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, floral spice and slight earthy character. Nice! — 2 months ago
