100% Nerelllo Mascalese from very old vines (80+ years) grown on the north slope of the Etna. Bright red with crunchy red cherry, plum, spice and smoke. Fruit is less prevalent in the mouth and the mineral component is more evident. Still big tannins with good acidity. Texturally very pleasing with long finish — 7 years ago
Very bold style of Nerello! Great fruit, nice floral component, light tannin. This will only get better with some time in bottle. — 3 years ago
Excellent easy drinking wine, looks light but is actually 13.5 degrees. Cherries, a bit astringent, pale. With schrimp diabolo and reblouchon potatoes an excellent wine to cut through the spices/heath and through the butter. Would be excellent with a plate of charcuterie for lunch. — 5 years ago
