Yarra Burn

Yarra Valley Red Blend 2000

Magnificent, gorgeous mature Yarra valley Cabernet blend. Appropriately opened the day I was supposed to be working at the first day of the Yeringberg open weekend which was cancelled due to COVID restrictions. — 9 days ago

Mount Mary

Yarra Valley Chardonnay 2017

A Burgundy-style Yarra PN with high concentration. Aroma of cranberry and mulberry jam. The palette shows a hint of sweetness while the acidity is not clear enough. The retro-taste is medium and jammy. Not so complicated as those PN of its same price level. Prefer a Cotes de Nuits Village with humbler price tag. — 15 days ago

De Bortoli

Dixons Creek Reserve Release Syrah 2010

As per previous notes. This is really stalky even though its 60% whole bunch. Just medium weight but ultra savoury and resinous - hard to pick a fruit descriptor. Barb and I liked this wine very much but lovers of big Barossa Reds would differ I think. To be honest in a blind tasting it would be difficult to pick this as an Aussie Shiraz. — a month ago
