Palanca Lugana Verdicchio 2019

Crisp, citrus. A little acid. Tried it with salmon, but it clashed with the honey-lemon sauce. It was the sweetness. Worked OK with cauliflower, and oddly enough with spicy chips. I like it but wonder about pairing. Maybe chipotle chicken or ham. — 2 months ago


Casisano Rosso di Montalcino Sangiovese 2017

Outstanding Sangiovese! Black cherry and plum skin neatly wrapped in sexy oak. Incredible balance as the wine opens up to reveal toasty vanilla and black licorice. The tannin is what really thrills me. Not overly assertive but also not shy. Powdery texture that reaches every corner of the palate. Pleasant bitterness on the finish. Decant an hour and pair with wild boar ragu. — 4 months ago

Rafael Valpolicella Classico Superiore Corvina Blend 2017

Naked: Smooth and not as dry as others from this region. Nose has a hint tabaco, finish is jammy black currant and blackberry.
Paired with steak: here the tannins are more pronounced. The wine is sweeter with food. Makes that berry taste pop. Again not as dry as others from this region. This wine cleanses the palate very well

Ripasso Valpolicella Corvina Blend 2017

Keskitäyteläinen ja tanniininen punaviini. Rypäleinä Corvina, Corvinon ja Rondinella. Ripasso-menetelmällä viini valmistetaan ensin normaalisti kuten punaviini yleensä ja sen jälkeen se käytetään uudelleen Amarone-viinin valmistuksesta jääneen kuorimassan kanssa.
