Soma Alto Adige - Südtirol Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2017

Interesting red (Bordeaux Style) blend from the very north of Italy. Plenty of mineral, dark cherry and ripe raspberry aromas and flavors. Hints of blue fruit and prunes. Chewy tannins and very round body. — a month ago

Chambertin Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2008

Red wine of the lunch at Les Clos in SOMA. Most were surprised at how open and ready it was. It was my first look at a young Rousseau GC and I was floored — 5 years ago

Pliny the Elder Double IPA

The one and only, Pliny The Elder, hard to find if you are not here on the west coast, King of the IPA's , is it worth all the hype and trouble, I would sincerely say yes, you are still a beer geek virgin if you have not had this, it is so well balanced with big hops, citrus and tropical notes, truly a remarkable beer, there other beers that come very close to this perfection , but fall just slightly below the high bar this beer has set, I have this on tap at my favorite brewery, if you follow my posts you know where that is, now Pliny The Younger, that is a little more hard to get, you need to buy a ticket for that, after a few times, I got one, will review that one soon, the best way to get this beer outside of the area it is brewed in, Soma, is beer trades with other beer geeks, I will trade this for Hop Slam, Heady Topper, Zombie Dust, those are some of the more popular trades from West Coast to East Coast beer geeks, well worth seeking out, not impossible to get, not like the "Younger" — 6 years ago

Limited Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

It is fantastic having such good neighbors. Soma produced by Marita's Vineyards is her fathers winery which produces limited productions and bottle ages much longer than most other Napa wineries. Earth, cedar, eucalyptus, dark cherry, black currants, with a long finish. A classic premium Napa Cab Sauv. — 5 years ago
