Beautiful balance of mouthfeel with terroir character. A touch of Provence with a generous volume of oily/silk roundness! Beautiful to pair with summer cuisine!! — 6 days ago
Very light fruity nose barely translucent purple, moderate tannins with a dry dark fruit finish — 2 months ago
Ha! Smells of snicker doodle - or maybe these cookies are still largely in my memory - cinnamon and sugar.
Heavy weighted with blackberry coolie, green pepper stem, pomegranate, cranberry, hints of menthol.
Buddha palm acidity sits with light tannin - a bit hot on the finish -
Actually one of the better local wines I have ever had! — 6 months ago
Found this dusty bottle in my cellar and wasn’t expecting much after 7 years. Surprisingly it was great. Slight amber color. Light refreshing honeydew nose. Juicy acidity with slight buttery texture - some sweetness with melon and strawberry and hint of Concord grape. Very refreshing. — 7 months ago
I have discovered a new favorite. McKahn Family Cellars. This is their Grenache 2018. The bouquet is full of spice and rhubarb pie. The initial palate is somewhat sour on the beginning but then diffuses into a nice dark berry flavor. This is followed by spice and dark chocolate. Then comes the oak and smoke. The finish is semidry and leaves you thirsting for more. — 8 months ago
What a pleasant surprise! Lavender on the nose. Sweet wine up front balanced by a slight bitterness from the lavender. The flavor is strong; if you don’t like lavender, you won’t like this wine. Excellent for pairing with sharp cheeses and breads, or for curling up my the fire on a warm spring evening. — 2 months ago
Actually this is a Red Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (36%), Cabernet Franc (28%), Merlot (28%), and Petit Verdot (7%). My wife, son and I stumbled on this vineyard on the way back from the Shenandoah Mountains. It’s a little gem hidden in Rappahannock, Virginia following the Italian family wine-making traditions. — 6 months ago
