Ripe yet still savoury with plum, black currant + a whiff of cedar wood & green pepper. On the palate this has flow - ripe, juicy, very finely grained tannins, good balance between the fresh acidity and the plums. This is a lovely surprise. And this is ready to drink now, so no need to wait any longer.
It’s hard to beat decent Bordeaux with Steak Frites.
And for 14€, great value, too! — a day ago

2014 vintage. Opened on 18th Feb 2020. Cherry and moldy note. Apple and cinnamon taste. Bit of floral scent. High tannins. Long finish. For it as being an old world wine, it is considered has its own character. A character that mainly can be found in New world wine. — 8 months ago
A luscious solid gold color in the glass with a highly expressive nose of apricots leaping at you. Lemon cream, maple syrup, and sweet pears run rampant. A touch of almonds to go with constant honey tips this off.
Similar to the Sauternes we all know and love, Monbazillac has a higher percentage of Muscadelle and are a bit more of a secret. Sweet but never cloyingly, there’s nice balance and focus instead of an overwrought syrupy mess. The palate follows the nose closely with all the apricots and pears you could ever want. Spice abounds, along with more almonds and molasses. A very pretty dessert but one with heft and character. — 2 months ago

Pineapple peach hunts of minerals and good texture. Good drink. — 9 months ago
Very happy about this. Well balanced with very apparent melon and honey flavors. White flowers and a very apparent sweetness on the nose. Had the 2013, very low acidity. — 5 months ago
