A Hall bottling I’ve not heard about before. Inaugural vintage is 2014. Predominately from Calistoga and Saint Helena (hence North End of the valley). 22 months 80% new French oak.
No detail notes, but this is beautifully balanced and elegant. Approachable but have the structure for 20-25 years cellaring.
Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers! — 3 days ago
We had the 2014 Vintage 6/20/21. This is a good California Cab. The tannins were smoothed out. The palate featured. Plum, blackberry and oak. Fruit forward, full bodied wine. — 3 days ago
Light, fruity, and tart. Candy apple and peach. Still has lots and lots of time to mature but it isn’t an awkward teenager. Even though it’s a slow developer, it’s graceful and athletic as heck.
It reminds me of going to the county fair as a high schooler, wearing my letterman jacket, thinking I was so cool and nothing could be better. — 9 days ago
Medium Ruby with aromas of dark berry fruits, floral and spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry and raspberry with black pepper, fresh cut herbs and flinty notes. Medium+ finish, rustic dusty tannins, ending with fruit, floral, spice and mineral character. — 5 days ago
A fine 1.5L Zin with all the attributes of a high end Zin. Lush red fruit, a flinty aftertaste and a lingering flavor mid pallet. Had for Father's Day with ribs, corn on the cob, baked beans and Brussel sprouts. Held upto these diverse foods and complimented their flavors. A real hit.🍷🍷 — 2 days ago
