Summerfield Vineyards

Reserve Shiraz 2021

Rich, lavishly oaked, tannic and quite structured, this solid Shiraz probably needs 5 or more likely 10 years to be ready to drink, but, well, traveling and all and can’t bring everything home, medium-long finish, really does need time!! — 5 months ago

Excellent after 10 years in the cellar. Dark fruits, earthy went very nicely with stir fried mud crab — 4 years ago

Lieu Dit Malakoff Pyrenees Shiraz 2013

Wednesday random cellar pick. Good. Was expecting some sharpness but there was none. Super smooth and enjoyable. This is the easy drinking kind of wine I like to pair with Italian food. — 5 months ago

Sabre Sparkling Blend 2019

Lovely after a couple of days open. A bit flat on the first night. But after weekend was soft, with taste of currents, oak, citrus, really mellow — 10 months ago

A gift (request) from a colleague. Mostly survived the travel from Aus. Lovely nose. Peppery. Opened up nicely after 20 minutes. — 5 years ago

Not as tannic as some. Cool@climate Shiraz at its best. — 9 months ago

$15 closeout & feels like theft! Inky massive, voluptuous wafting tons of dense black fruit, brooding, white pepper, game, bit feral, had a bit more nuance than many garden variety Shiraz. Very broad across the middle, generous ripe black fruit & pepper, decent balance, little clumsy & provincial, but definitely enjoyable. — 9 months ago

Blue Pyrenees Estate

Red Blend 2017

Fantastic stuff. Blue/plum fruit, a hint of menthol/eucalyptus, racy acidity, bright minerality, grippy tannins. If I’d not read the back label first I might have mistaken it for Shiraz. After 30min I got more of the chocolatey red currant notes of the Cab. The flavor profile of this is uniquely Aussie. Out of my #grassl1855 — 4 years ago
