Classic Bordeaux… ripe cherry, pencil lead, a bit of cedar and a touch of old leather when open and decanted for an hour. A beautiful wine with an initial acidic finish… but mellowed out with air and some time in the decanter. Fully mature… and this bottle Slightly oxidized at the edges… but no drop off in intensity. A few years left, but drinking well now. — 2 months ago
Dark ruby, garnet. Abundant nose of black, cherry and soft cranberry. Medium, full palate, echoes the nose adding a slight hint of graphite. Medium acidity, medium tannins, medium long finish. The third label of HBL is an excellent left bank from a classic vintage at a great price. Drink now through 2028. — 3 months ago
Very alive and shockingly young. From well-stored OWC. Nose minty & cedary. Body fairly fat but extremely well balanced. Long. Drinks like a third growth, let alone second wine of a fifth growth. — 4 months ago
Easily WOTN with a great showing despite slight bottle variation. Fully resolved in all respect, wafting pipe tobacco keeled this baby from nose to back of palate. Bright cherry, tar and tea notes, blackberry and smoke poking through on the entry. Drink ‘em if you got ‘em. — 10 days ago

Rich, full bodied, and very long on the palette after an hours decant. Dark fruit abounds; tannins we’re fine and we’ll integrated. Still quite young in presentation with decades of life remaining i. This vintage! — 4 months ago
