The Florita Riesling 2017

Lime & apricots. I hope no one is judging the amount of Riesling I’m posted because it’s only going to get worse. I’m catching up on my notes and photos from a Riesling expo 😬 — 7 days ago

Mount Pleasant Wines

Rosehill Limited Release Hunter Valley Shiraz 2006

See several previous tasting notes for this wine. This was made back in the day when Hunter Valley reds had strayed from their medium bodied, savoury, sweaty saddle origins to being riper and more full bodied like a South Australian Red. This was declared in a speech by Chief Winemaker at the time, Jim Chatto, at a dinner I attended at the winery. Also plenty of oak still evident at 15 years of age. I prefer the original Hunter Valley style which Mount Pleasant has wisely reverted to utilising the wonderful old vine fruit at its disposal. — 15 days ago

Adelaide Hills Barbera 2019

I haven’t yet had the pleasure of enjoying many examples of Barbera. This is a great wine without any comparisons.
Balanced, intriguing enough to warrant a second glass. Great small local producer also!

Adelaide Hills Nero d'Avola 2018

N is for Nero d'Avola. Beautiful ruby red, bright red cherry aromas, tart cherry acidity, light body, moderate tannins that linger. A bit of chill on it and it's a perfect summer red!! #atoz2021 — 5 days ago

Ochota Barrels

Kids Of The Black Hole Riesling

Tasted blind. And this was great. Fresh bouquet of freshly cut grass, buxus leaves, green apple and some petroleum on the background. Very friendly, well balanced with medium acidity. We were surprised in a good way when the bottle was revealed. Great QPR. Ah, and small production - only 2998 bottles. — 5 days ago
