Amazing wine from the one and only Michael David (Winery)!!!! It’s just proof that wine that’s really good is not so much about price! But I’ve NEVER had a bad bottle of Zin made from Old Vine Lodi grapes! And for the money it’s a brother, maybe “step”, but still related to Michael’s “Earthquake Zin”, still the biggest Zin I’ve ever had, which requires a big grilled steak, thick ribeye is our preference, to go with it. 2015 vintage with clear cocoa and earthy tones. — 2 months ago
Color of dark purple, thick with nice legs. Nose of coffee beans, cigar box, dark fruits like blackberries, and some ripe grapes. Taste follows the nose with addition of nice acidity, oak note, and spicy sweetness. Some marginal tannins and warmth to balance the flavors too. Aftertaste shows some more strawberry note and more savory acidity. On par. — 7 days ago
