This Zin is at it’s peak. From a fellow ZAP volunteer photographer’s vineyard Barry grew great grapes. — 2 months ago
An excellent cab! One if the best I've had. — 4 months ago
Magnum. The deep nose offers blackberry, cassis, cedar, licorice, cocoa, sweet spices, and hint of agarwood. Light herbal and rustic notes adds to the taste. Expansive, round, and textured on the palate, the full body is a fine display of reserved power, supported by cool acidic spine.
One of the best left bank blends from Napa I’ve tasted, this 07’ is in top form. — 5 months ago
A mini vertical of Calistoga cab from one of my favorite Napa cab producers!
The 14’ Has a deep inviting nose of ripe plum, blackcurrant, eucalyptus, cigar box, incense, and forest floor. Warm juicy entry. Full, smooth, and elegant. Round acidity and silky tannins. Complex yet quite accessible.
The Calistoga cabs are only bottled in selected years, and usually blended with Petit Verdot. — 4 months ago
Cassis, blueberry jam, licorice, dark chocolate, thyme, graphite, and hint of violet. A richly textured palate balanced by cool acidity and fresh herbs. Ample powdery tannins.
From magnum. This 15’ seems to be more developed than 13’ and 14’, and offer more complexity at this age. — 2 months ago
Wow, a great wine! Nose - somewhat light, plum, red current, black pepper. Taste - casis, plum, blackberries. Full bodied, just the right balance of tannins. — 6 months ago
The was a Last Bottle find that I jumped all over. It did not disappoint. While Cabs from Carneros, though technically in Napa, I find are not quite as technically complex as those from Oakville, Rutherford, Stags Leap or Howell, Spring or Diamond Mtn, this one demonstrated a masterful blend of the right grapes. For such a young wine, this was rich, supple tannins, with leather and Connecticut wrapper tobacco notes behind the deep fruit. I’m keeping this winery in my personal map! Wish I’d bought more than 6 bottles! — 7 months ago
