Deep ruby, almost purple, hue. Ripe purple fruit, such as blackberries, black currant, fig jam, and plum sauce, and tobacco, cocoa, bell pepper, sage, smoked meat, cedar, and delicate baking spices. Velveteen on the palate with soft tannins and a long finish. Have tasted 12’ through 16’ vintages for this bottling multiple times, and I like the 16’ the most. Left-bank like but with typical Napa ripe fruit core.
Being from magnum, this bottle tastes very fresh. Long life ahead.
