Megalomaniac John Howard Cellars Of Distinction

Claypool Cellars

CC Pachyderm Rice-Spivak Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Pale ruby color. Aromas of raspberry... can’t unsmell the bubble gum wrapper @John Howard ! And rose stems. Fantastic flavors, loads of red fruit and a gorgeous finish. — 5 years ago

Such a great wine!

Turley

Rancho Escondido Zinfandel 2004

Lots of blueberry, raspberry, ripe plum with a touch of vanilla and cinnamon spices. Very smooth and tasty, perfect for this Mother's Day evening. I have noticed there's a lot of us that have tried a Turley wine in the past. I haven't tried the 2004 but sounds like it's held quite well!

La Croix du Roy Sancerre Pinot Noir 2011

Opening salvo in a night of delicious dinner courtesy of Howard Street Wine Merchants and Chef @Paul Kulik , the energy behind Le Bouillon. Our dinner guest was our friend John Paine from Rosenthal. Tonight was an evening of Burgundy, which outside of Chablis and Beaujolais, has always been a challenge for me. This was a delicious opener, if not an outlier. Regardless, a really tasty wine with bright red fruits of notable freshness. Not super complex but unique and always fun to drink Sancerre Rouge. — 7 years ago

Megalomaniac

Bespoke Series Pinot Noir 2015

One of Niagara's most exciting (and flamboyantly packaged) newcomers, Megalomaniac began as John Howard's retirement project to raise funds for the Kids’ Health Links Foundation. Their Bespoke Series Pinot Noir hails from Niagara's prime Pinot real estate, the Twenty Mile Bench within the Niagara Escarpment. Herbaceous and medicinal, the wine find's a primordial allure with its concentrated, wilted sage and tarragon flavors and palate-coating red currant tones. — 8 years ago
