It has gotten to the point I need two wines with the Allen Brothers sampler of Ribcap & Wagyu Ribeye w/ my Roasted Rosemary Potatoes & Christina’s tasty glazed carrots.
The 02 DuHart over achieving the vintage.
The 12 Lutum Durell Vineyard hugs the Rosemary Potato’s & Glazed Cooked Carrots.
The DuHart is dark fruit currants, smoke, tobacco, pronounced lead pencil, clay, river stone, limestone, dark spice, dry& fresh herbs, eucalyptus/mint, dry twig, crushed dry rocks, forest floor and dark wilted flowers with nice acidity & polish & elegance for days. — 2 months ago
The wine is a deep golden color that reminds me of peaches in syrup but it is dry and flinty, very little fruit. Not much oak. A rather restrained white that probably does better with food, let me fix myself a snack. Edit: with time and a warm up, the mouthfeel rounds out into a smoother texture, still dry but with some yellow peach. — 9 months ago
Let’s see...gave it a 9.1 a year ago and an 8.9 two years ago...translucent ruby bbq’d strawberry savory spice slut lets loose after about an hour, upgrading to 9.1, Dylonmelier was spot on last year. Have with butter fried Brown Beech (Hon Shimeji) mushrooms 🍄 — 3 months ago
Really nice Pinot. Minerals and earth combined with some faint fruit. "Powerful" Pinot — 5 years ago
This was a “wait a minute” what is this moment kind of wine. A Crowns Gap cool climate Chardonnay hits on all of those Meursalt style points. So easy to drink and notable. — 3 months ago
New world style, lots of cherry, red currant and some raspberry. — 6 months ago
