Delicious with Burrata, Sliced Peaches, Greens drizzled in light Olive Oil & Tondo Balsamic Vinegar over Holy Moly Batard Crostini’s made from Companion Bake Shop.
I have come to fully embrace cuvées from Gimonnet & the quality & value they bring over higher priced champagnes.
Nice fuller body. Yellow stone fruit-peaches, nectarines, Bosc Pear, bruised green & red apple, tropical melons, overripe pineapple flesh with heavy juice, hints of ginger ale, graham cracker, baguette crust, understated yeasty notes, very soft white spice, chalky powder, sea spray, limestone powder w/ volcanic minerals, yellow flowers, jasmine, rainfall acidity with elegance & smartly polished finish that last just over a minute and lands on gentle minerality.
Resellers tab this Brut but it comes in a 4.5g, which makes it an Extra Brut.
Vineyards: 60% Cramant Grand Cru, 30% Chouilly Grand Cru & 10% Cuis 1er Cru
100% Chardonnay. Rested 6 years on the lees.
Disgorged 1/19.
This also finished up the night well with Key Lime Tart w/ Graham Cracker Crust. — 8 months ago
This has always been up there for desert island wine selection. I could drink this everyday. Missing the prices this used to be at (which was still expensive 😂 for me). Structured yet incredibly refined with this disgorgement. Savory depths abound. Crushed ripe strawberries, peach skin, tangerine, chalk, prosciutto rind, salt, cream, a kiss of cooling brown spice, orchard blossoms. 70 PN 30 CH, 63 months sur lees, 10/2020 disgorgement — 4 years ago
I am generally not a huge fan of Champagne unless it is exceptional which this is. I have always enjoyed the Blanc de Noirs style as well. Mid copper in colour. Plenty of chalky minerality on nose and palate. Fine mousse- small persistent bubbles - 72 months on lees. 100% Pinot Noir. Also aromatics of citrus and mouldy apple. The next night just as good with fewer bubbles. Much cheaper than Krug’s Clos d’Ambonnay for a similar experience I would imagine although I haven’t shelled out the considerable dosh for one of the Krug’s. — 5 months ago

Gavi comes from small growing area in northwestern Italy located north of Genoa on steep slopes of Ligurian Apennines. White label is La Scolca’s everyday wine, an alternative to their “Black Label”. From Cortese di Gavi grape (younger vines), pale yellow color with aromas of stone and citrus fruits, extended lees aging. On the palate flavors of apple and lemon, nutty notes, nice mouthfeel. Medium finish, vivid acidity ending with a mineral character. Nice! — a year ago

Pretty Golden in color.
Nose of apples, light yeast, peaches, minerals, spices and light herbs.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity and soft bubbles.
Dry on the palate with limes, light grapefruits, herbs, earth, minerals, yeast, light brioche and white pepper.
Long finish with limes and sea salt.
This is a delicious Sparkling wine from Oregon. Rich and fruit forward. Easy drinking and complex. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Feels like Champagne, which is nice to see out of Oregon.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 7 years.

Pale lemon color with aromas of fresh stone fruits, citrus and floral notes, aged in stainless with plenty of lees contact. On the palate flavors of pear, apple and lemon citrus with lively acidity and blossom notes. Medium finish ending with citrus and creamy mineral character. Drink now while it’s still fresh! — a year ago
Not Port wine 😉 but excellent — 3 years ago

Super flinty, lots of lees work but great balance of acid and pretty delicate over all — 3 months ago
