From Mag. 96 an excellent vintage. Magnum is the preferred storage for Champagne.
You can sense the age from the very first sip.
Nose has a little bruised apple & pear, apple cider, dry apricots, malt, notes of caramel, sugar in the raw, cream, sea spray/fossils, understated lemon/lime pulp, slightly fermented pineapple, white spice, baguette crust, graham crackers, withering yellow flowers, lilies.
The palate is bruised apple & pear, apple cider, dry apricots, malt, notes of caramel, sugar in the raw, cream, sea spray/fossils, understated lemon/lime pulp, slightly fermented pineapple, yellow melons, white spice, baguette crust, graham crackers, hints of understated maple soda , limestone marl, crumbly, moist, white chalk, withering yellow flowers, lilies, perfect, racy acidity, excellent; balance, tension, structure and a smartly polished finish that last minutes and falls in white spice and minerals. — 2 days ago
This rarely disappoints and is, next to Deutz, Pol Roger and Henriot, my favourite go-to champagne. Love the fresh red fruit with the creamy background and rich, round mouthfeel and the long lasting, tiny bubbles. Such good sipping! — 4 years ago
Crisp acidity, wet stones, baked apple, pear, lemon, lemon zest, brioche, yeast, baked pastry, almond. Medium+ body with rich flavors - lots of body for a blanc de blanc. Very good quality, great finish. — a day ago
Wow. 1998 was a great year and this is an awesome iteration. 2nd maturation phase. Perfectly (yes, honestly) balanced flavor profile and still vibrant - not sure what we can drink next to keep going upwards - let’s see. — 3 months ago
