Superbe Meursault Charmes, très typé avec des saveurs de fruits blancs, touche mielleuse mais à peine, riche et plein, frais et éclatant en même temps, bel équilibre. 91-92
Nice typical Meursault with white fruit, touch of honey and butter yet clean and precise, fresh and energetic, rich and full, great balance. — 7 days ago
Pale to mid Lemon in colour. Smells like it could be lean - Lemons and white flowers but it’s quite fulsome on the palate with white peach and a saline touch. I have to agree with Tanzer’s note with aromas of citrus peel and wet stone. Sometimes I have a high quality Australian Chardonnay like Leeuwin Art Series, Bindi Quartz or Penfolds Yattarna and wonder why I would bother with a more expensive Premier Cru white Burgundy. Once I tasted this I could see where that extra $100 went. — 20 days ago
Peaches and nectarines on the nose with crisp and balanced mineral finish — 9 days ago
There are better White Burgundies but, for far more money. More expensive ones work for special friends & occasions. However, I am really happy w/ a number of White Burgundy producers Bourgogne’s in good vintages. Happy w/ Bourgogne Blanc’s as well vs. heavily new oaked Sonoma/CA Chardonnay’s. Stylistically, just more pleasing to my palate.
The palate is creamy, rich, lush, waxy, honeysuckle, lemon juice, stone fruits, pineapple, lime candy, brilliant powder, chalkiness, delicate limestone volcanics, sea spray/fossils, crust part of toast, phat, round acidity, well balanced, nice length and very well polished.
Hold this a bit longer for something even more special…three years.
Excellent for $30. — 8 days ago
