Such a stellar project brought forth by Band of Vintners 👊🏻 Comprised of Mark Porembski, Stephane Vivier, Dan Petroski, Cameron Hobel, Barrett Anderson, Brennan Anderson, and Jason Heller, the BoV pulled strings, called in favors, worked their networks, and utilized their collective winemaking experience to produce this outstanding QPR selection. It’s classic Napa through-and-through with black currant, blackberry liqueur, fresh boysenberry, black cherry, damp violets, coffee, fresh leather, tobacco, and a flawless hint of vanilla and baking spices. This soft and silky offering is dynamite; I’m glad I have more on hand and that it can be purchased right down the road from me. This is a win 💪🏻 — 4 years ago
1995 vintage. Tastes like 90s st emilion even though 100% cab. 1995 out of 6.0l. Freaking magical mountain fruit. Less grip than Howell mountain but more tarry fruit. Red cherry, cedar and tobacco. This has aged so well. Typical carmel valley from the 'right side of the mountain' loads of fruit still. So pretty it is insane and downright unbelievable — 4 years ago
Very young and powerful. Bold aromas of dark berries and cookie dough "heller Topfkuchen" - buttery, sweet and lot of vanilla. On the palate again lots of fruit, vanilla and sweetnes. — 4 years ago
Very evolved. Off dry style. Golden yellow gold color with aromas of hazlenut, quince and mandarin orange skin. Old vines from 1972. The nose is not ideal but the palate is very fresh and fun. Tough wine to identify but it's a nice testament to carmel valley and old vine ca Chenin — 4 years ago
Leckerer, heller, trotzdem kräftiger Rotwein. — 2 years ago
(Y) $13/glass. Bold for Merlot. — 4 years ago
Great vintage wine, a bit hot but good concentrated red fruits, cranberries, earthy mushrooms. Good to drink now! — 4 years ago

This was enjoyable. Smokey aroma, and then a nicely balanced dark beer with a smokey flavour created through the malted barley being kilned over a fire of beechwood logs.
This is, as the brewery says, a traditional German approach to brewing beer, but for all my years living in Germany I had not had a Rauchbier. More needed please bartender... — a month ago
