Argali Pays d'Herault Cinsault Grenache Rosé

Very light pink, refreshing and crisp. The bottle is so fun and fits nicely in the wine refrigerator. — 18 days ago

Château Maris

Les Planels La Livinière Syrah 2017

Here’s a biodynamically-produced Syrah blend from Minervois La Livinière AOC, a subregion within Minervois, which is located on the slopes of the Massif Central (highlands) in the Languedoc region of France (Southern).  🇫🇷 It has 95% Syrah and 5% Grenache. 🍇

This wine comes from grapes grown on the terraced vineyards of Les Planels, where grapes have been grown for 35 years.

👁 The color is beautifully deep and rich purple.  I see noteworthy staining and tearing on the glass.

👃 The nose is youthful with an immediate bouquet of ripe and jammy black fruit such as black plum, black cherry, cassis, and blackberry preserves. There are also dried herb notes, such as lavender, sage, thyme, also black peppercorn, anise, pencil lead, cedar, cinnamon, clove, earth, and cured meat.

This wine was fermented in an open concrete vat and aged for 12 months in French Oak barrels, 1/3 of which were new oak, lending some of the baking-spice notes to the nose. 🪵

👄 On the palate this wine is dry. It has medium acidity, a full body, high alcohol, grippy tannins, flavors largely consistent with the nose, but less juicy and more earthy on the palate, and a lingering finish.

This wine is juicy and bold and has potential for further aging. 👌👌👌

We’re pairing it tonight with leftovers from last night’s bbq 🍖 🥩 and it is a lovely pairing!

Château Massiac

Minervois Red Rhône Blend 2017

Very good bottle that gave aromas and flavors of razor sharp fruit, dried herbs, underbrush, black tea. Med body, med tannin, high acid, and a great finish. Had with flank steak, it perfectly complimented and elevated the meal. Carignan really shines bright here. — 2 days ago

Cote des Roses Languedoc Syrah Blend Rosé 2020

This is one of the best Rose’ wines I’ve ever tried. Bursting with fruit aromas, it is bright yet smooth. It tastes very balanced, with no unpleasant acidity on the back end. Just an outstanding Rose’, and I love the beautiful and elegant bottle designs and glass stopper. Love this 2020 vintage!! — 3 days ago

Mont Gravet

South of France Rosé Cinsault 2020

More complicated than most roses I’ve had. Something herbal, thankfully not too sweet. Not sure how ashamed I should be in admitting I dropped an ice cube in this while enjoying a patio dinner on a warm Boulder evening. — 21 days ago

Domaine de la Rectorie

Côte Mer Collioure Grenache Blend 2019

There is a salty element to an otherwise very grenache nose with licorice and blackberry. There is a bit of a toasted touch too. This is very good. The palate is very well balanced and delicious. Strong acid backbone, good width with a bit of matter on the sides, a big bright blackberry fruit shining all along, and expanding midpalate with some spices and some tannins that caress and create a distorsion and a long blackberry and licorice finish that lasts for ever, with a pinch of salt. This is very good! Paired extremely well with fat duck breasts (magrets) on the barbecue ✌🏻 — 9 hours ago
