One of the best reds of the trip. Very tasty, velvety with tannins. Fruit forward (I don’t know what I’m talking about). Damn good, local and cheap — 2 years ago
A nice clean Zinfandel, but probably the one grape that we have actually treated better in the new world than the old. This bottle was the most celebrated organic primitivo that I could find publicly available in Puglia.
Smells of sun dried cherries, some meaty scents, black pepper and violets.
Tasty but a bit thin (but nearly 15%!)
Fresh, medium fruity acid, medium-light tannins- probably a better balance than the strong tannin v. Acid that we find here- much less tannic but also length than we see in it's Sonoma County, American counterpart.
14.5% ABV

Heavy brew, 16%! The alcohol is not even that noticeable, but this is chunky, juicy and voluptuous. Prunes, cacao and a warm and lingering aftertaste. Wine for a winter’s day (which it most surely wasn’t) — a year ago
I started to open my Puglia stash I brought home from holidays. This is the first vintage of a winery which started in 2019 in Gioia delle Colle. Insane how good this Primitivo tasted. Only 600 bottles were produced. Very fruity and round but due to the higher elavation quite some acidity that adds freshness. A winery to keep an eye on in the coming years — 2 years ago
Fruity and pleasant, maybe a little too dry? — 7 months ago
Wine from Rosciolli cooking class in Italy. Phil and I both really enjoyed it. — 10 months ago
Good Italian red — a year ago
Deep ruby; pronounced intensity aromas of vinyl, tar, earth, and leather upon pouring; more fruit as it opens up, blackberry, black plum, cocoa; dry, medium acid, high tannins, medium alcohol, full, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; medium plus finish, this is a BIG wine, very complex and concentrated — 2 years ago

Lush dark fruit but balanced with good acid. Not a huge fan of (usually very ripe) Primitivo but this is good stuff. — 5 months ago
