L'Ancienne Mercerie

Les Petites Mains Faugères Red Blend 2017

2017 vintage. Nathalie and François Caumette make very reliable organic wines and this entry level wine is no exception. A blend of Carignan (40%), Grenache (30%), Syrah (20%) and Mourvèdre (10%) on schisteous soils. Dark red with purplish rim. Blackberries, amarena cherries and fresh rosemary in the nose. In the mouth it has power, slightly jammy fruit and an intense spiciness. The tannins are a bit rustic, but not drying. Very good length. This wine has a lot of character, more power than refinement, but excellent value at around 11 euro. — 6 days ago

@Ron R - my friend for life gifted this a year ago - it was time - had a few friends that I thought this would be appreciated by and I was right - Ronnie said decant for 90 minutes and it was sinfully good buy as we consumed each of us remarked this was getting better - the slight bite it was giving made it even better and kept coming back to it - I am a total believer - thank you my brother — 18 days ago

Le Mas de l'Ecriture

L'Emotion Coteaux du Languedoc Red Rhone Blend 2018

#blend of 28% #Syrah, 26% #Grenache, 24% #Carignan, 15% #Cinsault and 7% #Mourvèdre, all aged a year in older demi-muids and 500-liter casks. 13.5% alcohol, medium-bodied, even hollow on mid-palate. It's red-fruited and has overtones of savory spice (think salami, cracked pepper and star anise) and a bright, juicy medium finish #languedocrousillon #languedoc #suddefrance #france #larsac #terrassesdularsac — 10 days ago

Gris de Gris Corbières Grenache Gris Rosé 2019

This wine is the perfect intersection of quality and price. 15 bucks. Bracing acidity, bright fruit, salinity. I’ve had dozens of bottles of this wine over the years, and it never disappoints. — 4 days ago

Domaine Navarre (Thierry Navarre)

Vin de France Ribeyrenc

Love the Thierry Navarre Saint-Chinians, yet this was a fun change of pace. Bless these vignerons that keep oddball grape varieties alive. Light in body, high in acidity yet kind of darker plum and dried fruit character. — 8 days ago

Mas Combarèla

Des Si et Des Mi Languedoc Red Blend 2018

Similar to a Cote-du-Rhône: tangy black fruit, some aging notes tending towards sweet spices: pepper, cinnamon, cloves .. nice balance, nice supple texture and digestible on the palate. Strawberry finish. Very pleasant

Proche d’un Cote-du-Rhône: fruit noirs acidulés, quelques notes d’élevages tendants vers les épices douces: poivre, cannelle, girofle.. bel équilibre, belle texture souple et digeste en bouche. Finale sur la fraise. Très agréable

Blend of #Grenachegris and #grenacheblanc and #Macabeu.
Alluvial Rolled clay pebbles for the Macabeu.
Shale (schist) lands for Grenache.
Fermentation of musts in demi muids (500 l), aging on lees. Racking of wines and bottling without fining (a little reduction on the nose)
