Luigi Baudana (G.D. Vajra)

Dragon Langhe Bianco Chardonnay Blend 2018

Pineapple bomb. Mostly a chardonnay blend but I placed this as new world riesling blind! It's really quite amazing bbq juice though. — 7 days ago

Dragon Vineyard Zinfandel 2019

Jammy blackberries, mocha, and dried cherries on the nose. Still very young, but drinks well. Extremely ripe palate but enough acidity and vibrancy to carry it though. — 2 months ago

Honda Shoten

" Tatsuriki" Power of Dragon Junmaiginjo Sake

Tatsuriki from Honda Shoten in Hyogo, Japan. Junmai Ginjo.
100 % Yamada Nishiki rice.
White peach, spring flowers and ume (green plums) on the nose.
Sweet honey dew melon, orange blossom, kumquat, lychee and a creaminess that lasts forever.
There is an elegance to this Nihon shu.
We had fresh caught local Spot Prawns sashimi and local diver caught octopus grilled.

Del Dotto

The Golden Lance Cabernet Sauvignon 2019

Del Dotto ‘The Golden Lance’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 & ‘Battle With The Corona Dragon’ Cabernet Sauvignon 2018: Big. Bold. Dark. Blackberry. Plum. Oak. Tobacco. Appropriate level of acidity and a smooth, long finish. For me, a little youthful on the vintages however, nevertheless two great Napa Valley wine selections! Cheers🍷 — 4 months ago

Château Quintus

Le Dragon de Quintus Saint-Émilion Red Bordeaux Blend 2014

A deep deep ruby color in the glass. Long legs and a wide brim. Medium intensity on the nose with notes of red fruit up top soon after opening. There’s really pleasant rhubarb and spice. You get hints that this is definitely not a heavyweight bruiser of a wine early on. Just a faint whiff of new leather and vanilla. As time passes, it grows a bit with more dark fruits coming to play and a nice core of greenery.

Pro-tip: buy second label wines. They’re so much fun and far easier to acquire. This fun Right Bank baby has elegance and complexity for days. Mostly Merlot with a chunk of Cabernet Franc, it’s incredibly smooth but still thrilling. Still so youthful and fresh, it has years to go. The fruit on the palate is dark and brooding but alive. The finish is long with a touch of cinnamon and spice and everything nice. Stellar stuff.
