Moulin a Vent Gamay 2015

Splendid nose of cherry moonlight, black currant, hay and a tiny earthy thing. The palate is well done and showing lots of balance. Cherry and black fruits shining all along a great acid backbone, a good width, a soft mouthfeel, some caressing tannins in the rear kicking off a very long finish with fruits. That's a really good effort. More of that! — 10 days ago

@Timothy Lynch I'm in Bordeaux now and it stopped raining on Thursday. I believe it's over too in Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany now but they sustained heavy floodings over there...

Le Moulin Syrah 2018

Northern Rhone QPR, which I thought previously a paradox. Has a plumb line of depth, black berries & cassis. Quite broad mouthfeel. Impressive…

La Rochelle Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2018

Very good. Has a bit more structure to it compared to the others from the same producer I have recently tried. Earth, cherry fruit and mouthwatering acid. Might get a few more to hide in the cellar for a few years. — 3 days ago

Such a great drinkable light red that goes well with any food pairing. Raspberry, pecan, cinnamon, walnut cranberry. — 7 hours ago

Domaine Diochon

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2017

Ruby color with a translucent core. Medium viscosity. On the nose, medium+ intensity with a mix of dark and red fruit, underbrush, stone, anise, some VA. On the palate, dark tart cherries…almost Campari-like. With time, the tannins begin to build. Medium + acid. Long finish. Diochon is one of those Beaujolais producers that flies under the radar. Definitely needs time. I expect this will be even more lovely in 5-10 years. Hold or drink with patience. — a month ago

Vieilles Vignes Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2016

Nice Burgundy style Bojo, nice red fruit, good acidity, supple tannins yet the wine has balance and some depth, but I think you need to drink up, won’t last that long. 88-89

Mon dieu. Although tested after midnight on midsummer’s eve alongside a Sauterne, this wine is so fresh and vibrant, deep dark dried fruits spiced up with some younger unripe ones, and honey, wax, and marmelade. — a month ago

Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2006

Black berry, charcoal, smoke, ink, bell pepper. A workin’ man’s bordeaux. You need to give this enough air. Popped and poured four days ago, thought it was pretty tight and backwards. So, I put the cork back in and stuck it in the fridge. Four days later, this wine really sings. — 18 days ago
