Holy crap this wine blew me away. Started off with a bit of an understated nose, but as it opened up in the glass, it was ALL menthol, mint, and eucalyptus. I kid you not, it smelled like I had accidentally dropped a piece of Dentyne Ice gum in the glass. Stunning aromatics. Actually reminds me of a bottle of '05 d'Armailhac I had a few months back because of that menthol on the nose. Balanced and firm on the palate. Drinking really well. Snatch it up if you can find it. — 5 years ago
Cooked fruits of blackberries, dark cherries, plum, black raspberries, cherries, strawberries, rhubarb, green pepper, vegetal mix, core of anise, rich semi-sweet black earth, stones, dry floral bouquets and a long elegant burnt caramel fruit finish with amazing acidity. After this vintage, this property was renamed d'Armailhac. Out of magnum. — 5 years ago
