Sand & Kalk „R“ 2015
Old vine, single vineyard Pinot Blanc from Buchertberg.
Ripe pears & golden apples on sourdough, buttered toast, with quite a bit of matchstick reduction at the beginning and toasted cashew after.
Very fresh on the palate, with depth & purity, the bright lemon & apple acidity balancing the wood. Apples & pears again, with some burnt butter notes and a pinch of white pepper. Carries the 14% alc effortlessly. This is really good.

Not even sure how to rate these amongst other wines; they’d all be 9-10s. Purely quaffable, sweet hedonistic pleasure. Great with a sharp, dank cheese. — a month ago
Nutty with citrus undertones. Medium fine bubbles and high acid. — a month ago

Deep mouth feel. Picked this up with Kylee at the Roblar Winery in Santa Ynez. It’s part of their Reserve collection. Even bought Allison a bottle for her birthday. — a month ago

2020/8/10 at Sant Pau in Tokyo. The bouquet on opening was something else - I haven’t had a wine, and certainly not an old bottle, with such an intense perfume in a long time. The palate followed - still very rich and balanced. It had that slightly cheesy old classic Rioja note, but with more depth and freshness than is common. Over time, it lightened a bit, but was still a remarkable bottle - about as good a Rioja as anyone could hope to meet. — 2 months ago
Fresh fragrant fruit aromas with slight mousse and bubble flow. On the palate stone and berry fruit flavors on dryer crisp side, but leaning towards off-dry, good balance between fruit and crispness, pear and peach flavors. ending clean and elegant with underlying sweetness. Pricey but a nice Prosecco, one of the better ones. Tasting Sample. — a month ago
酸があって、それがワインの品格をグッと上げている。2014は平易だったけど、これはいい。 — a month ago
