Giare Grappa Amarone

First ever grappa. Needs lots of time to breathe. Reminds me of a brandy with heady notes of caramel, vanilla, cedar, fruits, and a touch of flowers. I don't have a comparison point other than fine whiskeys and brandies, to which, I'd say this compares very favorably.

Gift from boss at work who sourced this from a producer near his family's village of origin.

Abbazia di Novacella (Stiftskellerei Neustift)

Stiftskellerei Neustift Kerner

Drinks like a cross between a good dry Riesling and a Loire SB. Very vivid, high acid, delicious and food friendly. Nice wine. — 2 days ago

Alto Adige Schiava 2019

Dark raspberries, red plums, and hints of bramble and flowers. Goes down very easy.

Had w chicken sausages, broccolini, and Parmesan cream and was all delightful. Had it at room temp, but it could take a light chill.

Vorberg Riserva Terlano Pinot Bianco 2012

Deep, full bodied yellow. A slightly green fruit, perhaps kiwi or just green grape juice. Rich in the mouth and long finish. Likely a winner for white burg fans. — 14 days ago

Vigneti delle Dolomiti Teroldego 2011

2011. Third time enjoying this wine. Five+ years ago, two+ years ago, and it has gotten better each time! I pulled this bottle because it was in the case next to the oxidized Bea wine I had last week and I’m hoping that it was a one off and not an issue with other wines that made the trip across country this winter. This bottle is delicious! 🤞🏻 — 17 days ago
