La Tâche Pinot Noir 1978

This is sooo pretty. Light pink in color, the nose it’s so seductive. Pretty floral notes, cherry, dried flowers. Wildly complex and intense on the nose but so light and ethereal. The palate is lifted and pretty with raspberry, delicate spice and classic vosne flavors. This wine is so poised and pretty and ready to drink. Light but powerful. Fantastic — 5 hours ago

Richebourg Pinot Noir 2001

Medium garnet . Slightly red currant , touch smoky , cassis . On the palate quite austere and a bit four square , there is the dark fruited notes of the nose on the palate . Quite linear and small boned for Richebourg , though with some gritty tannins . Decent length and focus , nice fresh acidity . To drink from now and over the next 10 years. — a month ago

Clos de la Maréchale Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2017

2017 vintage. Decanted and tasted for the next 5 minutes-2.5 hours. Medium body. Expressive oak and spice wizardry early on with sharp and clearly defined flavors all in a row. After approx 45 mins, the sharpness started to wane a tad and the harmony began to roll in. Good intensity throughout. Coming across this at least a half decade too early but this is built for the long haul vs short-term gratification. 2.10.24. — 12 days ago

Échézeaux Pinot Noir 2004

From magnum. Medium deep garnet . Lovely rose tinged nose , a bit earthy but delicate red fruit focused with lots of finesse . Not a big wine by any means but with lovely roundness and elegance . Soft rounded tannins and balanced acidity. Good length and energy. A real triumph for a much maligned vintage . Drink from now and over the next 10 years. — a month ago

Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru Pinot Noir 2017

I don’t get to try this ultra premium segment of Burgundy much so it is a treat to have this. This displays ripe aromas of berries, rose petal, leafs and wine gum pastille. It is medium bodied. On the palate you get more berries, citrus fruits, vanilla and cinnamon. The finish is fresh and dry with district fine tannins. — 14 days ago

Grands Échézeaux Pinot Noir 2018

To celebrate my 9,000 reviews on vivino, here is a beautiful Pinot Noir.

Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.

Strong fruity nose with bing cherries, raspberries, sweet strawberries, spices, oak, vanilla, licorice, chocolates, tobacco, earth and black pepper.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry and fruity on the palate with blueberries, black cherries, light earth, herbs, spices, vanilla, cedar, black pepper, light cola, dark coffee and licorice. black pepper.

Medium plus in finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.

This Pinot Noir from Burgundy is already drinking very nicely, but still extremely young. Well balanced and smooth with nice complexity and mouthfeel.

I had it blind right out of the bottle. That was a nice surprise. I called 2018 Burgundy Pinot Noir, but I did not see this kind of bottle coming... What a great experience to blind taste such an iconic wine.

There is always an aura when drinking these kind of wines, but drinking them blind, gives you a perspective that might be missed otherwise.

Needed 2 hours in the decanter to open up properly, and bring more complexity. Much better once it opens up.

Robert Parker 94 points.

I had an older vintage of this wine a year ago, and it is such a different wine. Will continue to age nicely in the next 30 to 40 years.

13.5% alcohol by volume.
