3rd place. Always a favorite. Called a Napa red blend. Above average Napa cab. See previous notes. — 2 months ago

Velvet Red Sweet Concord

Sweet at first and then tart to finish. A very good contrast. Not too sweet and not too tart. My favorite wine so far. — 9 months ago

Chambourcin 2017

Taking a cue from @Severn Goodwin I’m drinking some MO wine, which is made just a few hours from where I live. I had never had anything by Stone Hill prior to this, assuming it wasn’t very good, but I was wrong. This is a great light bodied red and was great with a slight chill. Black and blue fruits, forest floor, and a mineral streak combine with medium + acid and light tannins for an easy drinking, dry, fresh red. I bought a few of this producer’s wines and look forward to trying the others. A pleasant surprise! — 3 months ago

Nice, not had this one yet. Last time I had a Chambourcin it was from PA.

Baltimore Bend Vineyard

Arrowhead Red Concord

Sweet wine that dances on your tongue. I don’t typically drink sweet wine, but this would be good for novices. Concord grapes give this wine a familiar jelly taste. — 10 months ago

Estate Bottled Hermann Norton 2006

2006. We’ve had this in the cellar since a really fun bike ride across Missouri long ago. I was surprised how much dark rich fruit remained, how smooth the tannins were, and how great it paired with a grilled Nebraska steak! — a year ago

Perennial Artisan Ales

Abraxas 2021

Big chocolate, cinnamon, secondary vanilla, thick, silky, light carbonation, chili pepper lingers on the finish. Such a complex and satisfying dessert beer. I’ve had most of the other notable Mexican stouts from the likes of Westbrook, Cigar City, etc, Perennial leads the category. STL! — 10 months ago
