Nice smooth earthy/graphite nose. Tastes like it smells - smooth, earthy, a little graphite, a slight purple fruit taste that I always love. No herbs or vegetables - just dry dark fruit, earth, minerals. Maybe a tiny bit of spice. Tannic to just the right degree. Medium weight. Worth what I paid for it @$22. Would buy again. — 3 years ago
Pale crimson. Red fruits Cherry and very mineral. From the Rovitello contrada on the northern side of Mt Etna. Lighter than I remember from the tasting at the Winery a few months ago. Medium - tannins. Walter Speller who tastes Italian Wines for Jancis Robinson.com says Etna is “the Burgundy of the South “. That statement certainly nails this Wine. I liked it on a 40 degree Celsius Sunday for lunch slightly chilled in Australia watching the Tennis and Cricket on TV! Tasted again 88 weeks later on 22 September 2019 with the same notes. Hints of cowyard and soiled tea towel together with raspberry. Overall quite light. — 7 years ago

28% Tannat, 24% Tempranillo, 24% Syrah, 22% Grenache, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon (so beyond weird why Delectable calls this Cabernet Sauvignon??), this “Home Vineyard” was always the most highly-allocated and difficult to buy of Hank’s wines, but he was always kind enough to sell me 2-3 or more bottles, so huge kudos to @Hank Beckmeyer for that!!
Color is still quite purple/red, I’m getting aromatics that suggest Tannat/Tempranillo mostly, not Syrah/Grenache, shows a fair degree of ripeness (14.3% ABV, different from many of the post-2011 cuvées), tannins are smooth, long finish, I’ve always loved this particular LCF red wine!! — 7 months ago
