Day 2 after having a small glass day 1 and thinking really needs time. Family over and drank after two easy Napa cabs. Rhubarb, strawberries, cherry, tobacco, flint earth, chocolate dusted raisins, and moist earth. Others reacted negatively to this on first taste but came around after half a glass. I loved this from go today. Really different style. Guessing it will be a great 25 year wine. — 2 days ago
Just opened a bottle of this tonight, second time tasting it. I would rate it a point or two higher than you only because it’s just so damn delicious. But your critiques are valid - a bit over the top, abv a bit high and just so jammy for being one of the coldest and most western vineyards in Sta Rita. Would have loved a bit more elegance and complexity from this. But probably not going to happen with this producer.
@delectable this is the Heirloom red blend. Blend of three vintages. Got for $15. The perfect mother-in-law wine as I didn’t mind a glass after finishing off my wine and grandma loved it. I may even take this over the Romeo. — 12 days ago
