Decanted and let sit for two hours, with just a quick taste at pop and pour. Delicious.

I’ve been staring at these bottles for quite some time, and while it’s still very early, I feel like I got a pretty good preview of what this has in store. The youth is compressing the fruit on the nose, allowing the oak, earth, flint, spice, and dried flowers to take center stage.

There’s a touch of iodine on the initial palate, followed by increasingly complex fruit. Blue, black, and red fruits all emerged more and more as the night progressed, but they were never really at the fore. Everything feels beautifully integrated, layered, and just a little restrained right now.

Lovely wine, but I’m putting a sticky note on the remaining bottles: do not touch for five years.

For me, one of the very best Pomerol’s.

@Somm David T I need to find some ready to drink vintages as I’m anxious for the experience and waiting for my ‘18s and ‘22s would take way too long. Any suggestions on vintage and where I should be shopping for them?

Got it on recommendation from a buddy who just drank 150 wines on a trip to Napa and said this was his favorite.
Blackberry, cherry, chocolate and tobacco. Grippy tannins, nice acidity to bring it together. Well balanced and drinking beautifully.

It was Jason. I should have said tasted 150 wines. He said he spat almost all. Some good ones on the list. You’ll have to ask him.

Family vacation on North Shore Lake Superior. View from our place is outstanding. Wine is great too! Not rating as I’m popping this youngster to get a baseline for the six pack and figure out if I’m gonna get more.
Adding comments - this is drinkable now. It’s not closed, tannic, or out of balance. BUT, it does feel more simple than what lies underneath. I’d say give it 5 years before trying and 15 years until prime time. I’ve recently had the ‘09 and ‘10. They were two of my favorites in some time and I think they were just getting into drinking window.
