That fuckin guy from Somm was right: this smells like a can of freshly opened tennis balls. Got it as a joke to go with the US Open Women’s Final and here we are! A bit of grapefruit, lemon-lime, and some sort of flower (perhaps violet?). Balanced a bit too hot to be super enjoyable, especially on its own. Some age might do it good, though. — 3 years ago
Iron and ash heavy on the nose. Drinks hot with moderate to low acidity and little to no sweetness. Dark cherry notes balance out the sort of sanguine profile. — 3 years ago
A little bit of that buttery brioche that you’d expect in most of Burgundy, but with a minerality that is off the charts. Fruits are pear and stone fruit, but sit sort of behind the limestone and oak. Not too hot, even at 13.5% ABV. Really crisp. I bet with some age this will be fantastic at the price. — 3 years ago
Buttery notes of crème brûlée and pear on the nose. Nice acid balanced the alcohol. Barrel age came through on nose and palate, and finished hot. Exactly what you want out of an oaked Chardonnay. — 3 years ago

2018 Turckheim Reisling. High minerality, medium to low acid, slightly hotter than 11.5%ABV would suggest. Notes of lemon, melon, maybe grapefruit or kiwi. Has some barrel-adjacent flavours that took me by surprise. Can’t believe I’m saying this about an Alsace, but this could maybe use some more age to round out. — 3 years ago
Notes of honey, slight yeasty funk. Lemon, floral notes, melon. Decent acid, well-rounded and balanced. — 3 years ago
High minerality and acidity with sharp, vegetal, and spicy nose and tasting note of lime. — 3 years ago
