Zlatan Otok – Vrhunsko Bijelo Pošip
Pošip 2023
Dalmatia (Hvar / Korčula), Croatia 🇭🇷
Overview
A 100% Pošip from coastal Dalmatia, one of Croatia’s flagship indigenous white grapes originally from Korčula. This expression leans into ripeness and texture while maintaining freshness, showcasing the Mediterranean identity of the varietal.
Aromas & Flavors
Ripe apricot, baked peach, golden apple, and subtle citrus peel, layered with hints of Mediterranean herbs and a gentle mineral touch.
Mouthfeel
Medium-bodied with noticeable weight and tension. Textured and slightly rounded, yet balanced by fresh acidity, leading to a long, clean, and composed finish without heaviness.
Food Pairings
Grilled seafood, Mediterranean cuisine, roasted vegetables, aged cheeses, and Dalmatian-style dishes like pršut and grilled fish.
Verdict
A beautifully expressive and character-driven white that overdelivers. Underrated and underrepresented—this is a reminder of how much diversity the wine world still offers beyond the usual suspects.
Did You Know?
Pošip was the first Croatian white grape to receive protected status and is considered one of the country’s most important indigenous varieties, thriving in sunny, coastal terroirs.
🍷 Personal Pick
A standout for exploring beyond the mainstream, textured, flavorful, and distinctly Mediterranean. A wine that rewards curiosity and breaks routine. Cheers!

Flavorful and unique wine. Similar to Friulano with a larger number of flavors and surprisingly complex. Starts out with dried apricot, then molasses, and ends with mild lemon similar to a Sauvignon Blanc. Great Summer wine. Good with mozzarella and tomatoes.
