At the Yarra Yering dinner last Thursday 3rd October 2024. Brief notes. I have been a fan of Yarra Valley Chardonnay for many years. There wouldn’t be many older blocks than these 2 YY blocks planted in 1969. Showing the flinty modern trend. White flowers - a good combination of citrus and stone fruit. Oak use is not overdone - the wine achieving great balance. Very good.

We came for the Chardonnay and Pinot/SHZ.
I fell in love with the Viognier and the PN/SHZ sold out last weekend!
This 100% new French oak Chard is top notch and reliable.

Love this wine. A little more style than earlier vintages. Less weight and malo, more acid and structure. Beautiful lemon and herbs, hints of buttermilk, gorgeous length.

Warm year but undeniably YY. It's got that blue cheese and parsnip under neath sweet fruit. Just such a good wine. 14 percent but good acid and balance.

Close planted, lowest site at 100m elevation, North facing, cane pruned, 2t per acre, lots of chicken & hen, basket pressed to 520L per tonne, barrel fermented in piece 200L barrels, only addition sulphur, unfiltered! #FilthyGoodVino #RealWine #YarraYering #YarraValley
