Just what I want in a Crozes. So earthy and mineral on the nose. Just wafting out of the glass with dirty crushed granite and feral scents. Some rich blackberry fruit and dried beef too. Broad and very open on the palate. Rich savory flavors all over the place. Some tannin provides a bit of scaffolding, but this is all about now. (I sometimes refer to a good Crozes as “slutty” Syrah, but I probably should avoid terms that have historically been used disparagingly, even though I mean it in a good way!)

This wine is maturing nicely, maintaining its fruit and acidity as the tannins mellow. Loads of blackberry, black cherry, black pepper, licorice, and plum and is now developing tertiary notes of leather, forest floor and dried plum. Quite long on the finish with some fine wet stone at the close.

Deep color with lovely hints of garrigue on the nose mingling with smokey black fruit. Sweet fruit impression and a solid core of supple tannins. Definitely wants more time but is already delicious

Decent, a very nice surprise and the first wine I’ve had at home for far too long! Very savoury, with youthful longevity through the finish. Thought at 7/8 years this would be ready to drink - it was good, but if I had any more I’d throw them down for another 3+ years

Yann Chave rocked '13! This has serious stuffing for longevity. Still rocking on day 3. Buy and lay 'em down.

Richer, darker fruit, pepper, bitter green herb, smoke. A little hot, a good amount of oak. Young and bold. Needs time.

Bloody hell this is good. And I don't even really like 2011 in the Rhone. Perfect time to drink it.

Drinking very well for its age. The fruit is bright and tannins silky smooth.

Bright red fruit that needs a bit of air to start. Some light notes of olives/bacon that will likely pick up some weight with time. Great bottle at its price point.
