A serviceable Barossa Shiraz from Yalumbas vast vineyard resources in the Barossa - hence the name Patchwork. Went well with Lamb Shanks. At the local Irish Pub on the Gold Coast watching the Super Rugby and my team the Queensland Reds go down to the Melbourne Rebels. Not a happy camper. ☹️☹️

Earthy on the nose, surprisingly gamey/meaty, not real fruit forward, medium + acidity, tannins med. Reminded me of a northern rhone?? Overall i liked the wine, but not what id expect from Barossa.

This is a good Syrah, on the dry side. Smooth, and a bit chalky. Reminds me of a Rhone blend. Good value too.

Almost thought it was a Northern Rhone from a ripe vintage. Smoky and meaty without dominant oak. Fantastic value. Wines like this can make Oz exciting again

More red than blue--toasty chocolate and cherry intensity. Elegance and floral lift, pretty structure.

Hot weather with ripe red fruit bursting and coating your tongue... Gonna enjoy this with a nice steak!
