This goes out to @Ira Schwartz .
This is so full of life. Look at the presentation in the glass. Great nose of mulberries and saddle leather. Mid palate is juicy, powerful and still quite tannic. Some tertiary notes of sage are evident, but still a wonderful experience.

At the Yalumba tasting. Ripe black fruits with soft tannins. Very approachable and easy to drink. 67% Cabernet and 33% Shiraz from the Eden Valley.

A little fun blind tasting at Yalumba for options training.
Picked Eden Valley fruit, Cab blend only 5 years off the vintage with a guess of 09 based on strength of colour and fruit. A spicy and soft tannined stunner

Surprisingly good for the 2011 vintage but being from the Eden Valley protected somewhat from the wet vintage lower down in the Barossa as explained by Jane Ferrari at the Downs Club. 16.5.

Earth, spice, cassis, plum, leather and meat. Showing great for a 10 year old wine. #aussiewine

Cracked this yesterday and it was alright after a decant it went back in the bottle today it's opened up wonderfully with dense black fruit on the nose backed up by a classy eucalypt/mint, vanilla ice cream & cedar. Palate is a lot more savoury with bitter blackcurrant and sloe fruit but a freshness to the mid palate and a bitter black chocolate finish.does make you wonder why cad/Shiraz blends fell out of favour, great value.
