Gorgeous nose of mid season cherries, sour cherries, some hints of black cherries and loads of earth and mineral. Sappy, sweet and deep. Terrific red fruits and awesome energy and purity. Stunning depth and sweetness. What a value for Gutswein. As it airs you even get some citrus on the nose. Terrific hint of rusticity and great velvety tannins that suggest short term aging

Absolutely singing. Could be best pinot I’ve ever tried for less than $25!? Crazy. Cherry and butterscotch. Lean, tannic, structured but with that generous ‘18 fruit. Fabulous. What a vintage.

VERY Cherry, the nose is also floral, slightly resinous. It has that lovely damp tree bark thing going on. Autumn on display.
Even after 1/2 hr. Out, it’s quite acidic up front( disclaimer: mouth has been up/down post Covid) lovely minerals and soil.
Worth further investigation. I might hold a couple years, but pleasure is now.

Spicy, aromatic, but very green. Not so noticeable in the nose, which is aromatic and pretty. Stripped cedar, mahogany, dark firm perfumed cherry. At first supple in the mouth, it's acidic, mineral, raw, crunchy. It hurts just a little.
Maybe you give this a few years, maybe you get tougher. But not there just yet.

While reading good reviews about this pinot noir (Spätburgunder) and the amazing qpr, I could not resist to buy a case (@11€/bttl) for my pinot noir loving friends/visitors. I normally seldom drink pinot noir, not my preference, but indeed this is a very high quality wine with a great nose, it has depth and balance. Tip for PN lovers.
