Nose is red cherries, licorice, limestone, woodland berries, wet forest floor and dampen earthy scents. Great floral depth as well. Palate is juicy, clean and ripe. Tannins are significant, pure and velvety but also have a tiny hard edge. Juicy depth of lovely tangy cherries persist on the long finish. Tannins are a bit drying as this airs. I think drink up.

Apr 21st, 2021Out of the gates this nose soars over 16. Woodsmoke, high toned mid season cherries, spice and huge minerality, such an awesome perfume. Enveloping and wafting. Smokey as well. Palate is intense and so sweet with lovely freshness and mega red cherries and with some serious tiny berry fruit intensity. So velvety and just amazing palate presence. So deep, so much fruit and wonderful velvety tannins. Killer. So so long. Tasted twice since January and consistent notes. Brilliant wine. So much energy and freshness. What a finish teeming with minerals and lovely sweet cherry fruit. Awesome texture.

May 26th, 2020Amazing perfume. Sour cherries, red cherries, spice, gorgeous herbals, amazing airy minerality. Smells like a breeze in the cherry grove after a misting of rain. Delicate and substantial. Mesmerizing. Earthy, dusty. Complex. Just a stunning nose. Palate is a work of art. Just the best most pure sour cherry fruit and wonderful, elegant and velvety tannins. Just so complete. Huge acid and structure and amazing sappy and sweet fruit. But so much limestone gives the sweet fruit and savory mineral edge to it. Huge length and density. Really serious wine. Clings to the palate with its extraordinary fruit and palate presence. Just echoes. This is an amazing wine and I think in 5 years will blow some minds. Easily the most promising young Probstey but also one that will need the most time. After some air there is just awesome tiny berry fruit complexity. Explosive. Wow. This is an amazing wine.

Super vinous, salty, tart fruit. Pure and intense. Some oak and a vivid cherry pit aroma, sweet berry fruit and raspberry leaf. Bracing minerals and acidity.

Nose is sort of muted on open. Still 45 minutes in.
Palate is soft cherry fruit. Delicious. As it opens you get some spice and depth.
