I wish I had a case of this wine. It is that stunning! Nose and palate agree. Strawberry, cherry, brown baking spice, leather, vanilla, long finish with balanced acid and tannins. Says 14.5% Alc, but tastes closer to 14%. Such a delicious find. So fortunate to have discovered while in Dresden in 2015. Cheers.

May 27th, 2017Bought today on a whim near Meissen Germany. I understand 2011 was a warm year here in Germany. This wine is showing brilliantly. Smoke, blackberry, brambly fruit, white pepper, classic spice but so soft! Smooth. Worth $21 EU spent. Wish I could bring a case of this home.

A mellow award-winning pinot noir from one of my favorite wineries in the Ahr valley. I enjoyed it, but for the price, it's not my favorite spätburgunder.
