William Rose
Southern Oregon Dry Riesling
Still -- hell, more than ever -- the best riesling producer in the new world aside from Grosset. Better than most old world producers too. Subtle petrol, heavier on the river rock and slate, with ripping acidity that pares the musky apricot, tropical fruit and lime down to the barest, leanest essence. So dry it makes FX Pichler look like Columbia Crest, and a glassy, electric finish that goes for minutes. Considering his 2006 is still probably a decade away from maturity, this is also young by a fair piece, but far from hard to drink. And I'm not just saying that because it's my wife's and my wedding wine. Shoulda been there, suckers.

Apr 7th, 2015I absolutely love this Riesling! Fresh, crisp and focused, pure Riesling characteristics shine in this zippy, zesty beauty. Delicate apple and pear come to life mid palate all the way through to the lengthy finish. Crisp vibrant acidity and gorgeous minerality are the highlights. Mark nails it with Riesling - he's one of the best winemakers in the South Willamette Valley.
