Not pleasant - overdeveloped, sour and stewy at the same time. Brown in colour. Soupy.

Birthday celebration with my wife. Such a wonderful time in Asia. Found the wine a touch tart and incomplete. Maybe I sequenced things ass about face... at Gaggan.

Far better than her stunted sister. Initially excellent, with lots of rich fruit and perfumed spices. When tasted against a basic Gevrey though, it fell flat like fart in an elevator. Decent enough but makes you wonder why some people keep trying to grow Pinot outside of Burgundy (and Champagne/Jura/Baden/Pfalz...) rather than using or developing varietals better suited to their terroir and climate (as some of the most exciting NW producers are doing). Not saying that NW pinot can't be good (there are amazing exceptions), just that, in my opinion, it's still very rarely as good as the originals.

Beautiful poise and balance. With air went from Very Good to Excellent. Plummy spice. Moreish and Delicious. One of the better Pinots this year. 18.5.
