William Chris Vineyards
Texas High Plains Mourvèdre
Tart cherry, dusty, gritty Texas soil, honest wine with an elegant kick. Is that possible? Find out.

Jun 21st, 2015Very thin, for a texas wine, rather good, for a wine of the world meh. Fruit on the nose and cured meat, blood and a smidge of mineral. Was not the hype I expected from William Chris.

Feb 5th, 2021Disappointed. I picked up a bottle a year ago and loved it. Different vintage possibly? I don’t like this one at all. 2017

Jan 18th, 2020This is awesome...smokey on the nose, remarkably smooth, tart cherry and some earth.

May 10th, 2019Smooth like butter. Not tannic. Paired nicely with burgers; would work wonderfully with steak!

Feb 13th, 2018Lovely dinner wine. Smooth, bright with subtle tobacco notes to finish. Paired well with grillwd steak and the tang of feta in a Greek salad.

Apr 15th, 2017Burnt garner color. Rim to core is gradual. Medium viscosity. Dark fruit on the nose: blueberry, black cherry, perhaps fig. Mouth feel is jammy and slightly astringent. Taste is smooth. Earthy. The dark fruit have become earthen. Finish is slight, as are tannins. Have a feeling this wine only gets better as you drink it.
