Wilde Farm
Cardiac Hill Vineyard Syrah

Still very youthful. Nose is interesting with tart elderberry, green peppercorn, and resiny minerals. Nice soft mouthfeel, but it’s very lean and undernourished on the palate. Lots of acids but not a lot in the way of flavor. Strikes me as trying too deliberately for a particular style at the expense of pleasure.

Continuing the Syrah kick. Pax Mahle working with Cardiac Hill fruit. The most northern rhone wine I've ever tasted out of CA, this could kill in a blind tasting. I'm now drinking it on day 3 and it's finally starting to come into a zone. It's still dry and austere, but with wonderful blue fruit underneath. This thing needs 10 years.

Solid. Low ABV makes it tart but not in a bad way.

Nov 24th, 2017Rim moving to white, from dark purple. Medium- viscosity. Nose sees ripe, jammy red fruits, vanilla, little bit of funk. Palette sees cooked blueberries, blackberries, medium- tannins, medium finish. This is a fun, fresh, fruity Syrah with a little bit of funk.
