Three Bridges Durif

First time I have had a Durif. Really good red from Griffith in the Riverina in Australia, a region that produces lots of wine but is not known for quality. This is worth a try.

I love a good Durif and it's so exciting that this grape is popping up more frequently these days in Aussie. It's is also called 'Petite Sirah' in some places, particularly in the USA and interestingly enough it originated as a cross between the grapes Syrah and Pelourisn.

It's a deep, dark opaque plum red on the eye. Warm intense nose of cigars, fresh vibrant plum fruits, chocolate and vanilla bean. In the mouth it coats the palate with intoxicating gusto. It's voluptuous, flavoursome and it has just the right amount of tannin and alcohol to leave you feeling giddy with pleasure. And the finish is literally mammoth. Plus it was a great match to steak & chips night!
A huge thanks to Calabria for providing this sample bottle for me to try. #Gifted #TCWeekdayWine

Big red, lots of tannins, a bit of sweetness. Recommendation from clerk at Chambers Cellars

Mar 3rd, 2016Amazing wine from Griffith. Easy drinking red - lush and full bodied. Great with food or enjoyed with a bitey cheese and some quince paste.
