Sipping Fine Wine

Founded in 1883, Wente Vineyards is the country’s oldest family-owned winery. From a Single Vineyard Pinot Noir in Arroyo Seco, aromas of pure fruit and complex floral spice. On the palate strawberry and cherry flavors with black tea and herb spice. Firm tannins with a soft edge, well balanced, nice length ending with a fruit character.

Light Ruby in color with Medium intensity and a red rim.

On the nose, cherries, strawberries, raspberries, oak, earth, vanilla, licorice, barnyard, black pepper and spices.

Light to medium bodied with high acidity.

Dry and tart on the palate with cherries, strawberries, plums, red currants, wood, vanilla, licorice, earth, dirt, cloves, spices, almonds and peppercorn.

Short finish with soft tannins and tart cherries.

This Single Vinyard Pinot Noir, is definitely Drinkable, but not to my taste. Not one to be had by itself, better with food with a touch of bitterness on the ending. A bit unbalanced.

14.5% alcohol by volume.
